Can Students Take Assessments on Completed and Placed Out Skills?

Thanks to recent work by our developers, students now have the ability to take assessments on skills that they have placed out of or completed! Previously, students could only take assessments on skills that were found in the Remaining section of their Roadmaps, or skills that were assigned to them by their teacher.

What happens to a student’s skill status when they take an assessment on a Completed or Placed Out skill?

For skills a student has already completed, our system will accept the highest score on a skill assessment as the one that should inform the skill status. So for example, if a student completed a skill by passing an assessment with an 80% in January, and then took a new assessment and got a 100% in February, the system would update the skill status to be Perfect instead of Great. If the student took another assessment on the same skill in March and scored a 20%, the system would leave the skill status as Perfect.

For skills a student placed out of on a diagnostic, our system will leave the skill status as Placed Out even after the student takes an assessment on that skill, regardless of how they perform.
