How Do I Change a Student's Grade Level, E-mail or Password?

If you are editing a student imported from Clever, during the next Clever sync, any changes made could be overwritten by data coming from Clever.

This article will explain how to fix a student's grade level, e-mail or password without having to go through the Help Center. You may also choose to edit demographic information for your students.

Start by going to Manage on the top navigation and selecting Find/Edit, then choosing the Students tab. Search for the student by their first and/or last name. Once the student you would like to edit appears, click on the dropdown arrow and select Edit Student Info.

Then you can change any of the student information you see below, including resetting their password.

This information is also editable from a student's card - either click the student's name or select View Profile from the dropdown menu.

A few things to note:

  • Anytime a you set a specific password for a student, the first thing they should do after logging in is change it. This is for their protection. To learn how to do this, check out How Can I Change my Password?
  • If you change a student's grade, they will not be able to access their roadmap again until they complete part of a diagnostic aligned to the new grade level. So, be sure that the student is ready for this before making such a change. Changing the grade level back will not bypass the diagnostic.
