Clever: What Data Gets Synced and When

Understanding what gets synced will inform you of what data gets sent from your SIS (student information system) to Roadmaps. You can view this information via your sharing rules if you are a Clever Admin.

Data gets delivered via Clever to Roadmaps nightly. Your school may sync data from your SIS to Clever at a different rate than the Clever to Roadmaps sync, so it’s important to keep this in mind when considering when student or class information will update. For instance, if your school sends data every two hours to Clever, those changes will not be reflected into Roadmaps until the following day as Roadmaps syncs nightly.

In the case that your school or district will need to make mass changes or additions and you will need data synced sooner, reach out to the Roadmaps Help Center.

Note that syncing from Clever to Roadmaps is not a two-way street. Although Roadmaps will allow you to add and edit class and user information, those changes may be overwritten the next time Clever syncs. If you would like to make permanent changes to user information in Roadmaps, you will need to do so directly in your SIS, specifically if you are trying to add new users or classes. Not all fields are tied to the nightly sync, so fields that are edited in Roadmaps like Class Descriptions or Class Tags will not be impacted.
