Using "Ready For" Information to Make the Best Use of Teacher Materials

You have access to these teacher led and collaborative lesson materials, but Roadmaps is all about personalization, so how do you know what lessons are right for what students? There is an easy way, through the Skill Progress report, to find groups of students who are all ready for the same skill. Start by navigating to the Reports section at the top of your page, and choose the Skill Progress report

What you will see is a listing of all of the skills in all of Roadmaps and how students are doing on them in all of your classes. If you have more than one class, you will want to filter the report, so you are only seeing one at a time. You can also filter for a number of different things as well, including mathematical thinking strand, skills in a certain ladder, etc.

There is lots of great data in this report, but for the purposes of forming groups, look in the "Ready For" column. In this column, you'll find the number of students who are ready to learn each skill. This means that they have shown that they know all of the prerequisite skills.

If you click on the number in that column, a list of exactly who those students are will pop up. Find a skill with a large number and deliver a teacher led lesson to those students. Or, find several smaller numbers and have students do collaborative activities on skills they are ready for (just make sure you aren't putting the same student in multiple groups). This will help you deliver multi-modal learning experiences to your students.
