Selecting a Roadmap

After students complete the diagnostic, two roadmaps are built; their enrolled grade level Roadmap and their Algebra Roadmap (for students enrolled in 9th grade and above, only the Algebra Roadmap will be built). The grade level roadmap covers grade-level skills and their predecessors. The Algebra roadmap focuses on Algebra 1 skills and their predecessors.

You should help your class decide which Roadmap to work on based on their goals for the year. You may also want to consider student performance on the diagnostic (for example, you may want a student to work on their Algebra Roadmap if they place out of most of the skills in their grade level Roadmap) and how much time you will be dedicating to Roadmaps (for example, if you plan to use Roadmaps on a once-weekly basis to supplement your curriculum, you may want students to work on their grade level Roadmap).

As the teacher, you also have the ability to lock a student's Roadmap.  Find the student(s) that need to have their Roadmap locked. Check the box on the top left side of the student card, then select Lock Roadmap as the action. A menu of grade level options will pop up. Choose the Roadmap the student(s) should focus on, then select Save.

More information on locking and unlocking a student's Roadmap can be found here: How to Lock and Unlock a Student's Grade Level Roadmap.
